Obit Poem by Richard Phipps

Obit

Often over-looked, dismissed,
relegated to back pages,
with furniture ads and miracle cures.

Pictures - some very old,
of a happier time,
without illness or dread,
full of smiles and hope.

Stories of once vibrant lives,
condensed to several lines of print,
then forgotten.

Look at the faces,
for more than a casual glance.
Live those lives a bit,
as they no longer can.
