Ode To Breakthrough Poem by A B Faniki

Ode To Breakthrough

Rating: 5.0

Trouble is a cruel mistress; she has a way
Of screwing up everything one holds dear.
While she is screwing you over her twin
Sisters are undoing their breaches, to take
Their turn with you: trouble comes in three. And
she is as treacherous as Judas Iscariot;
She always introduces herself with good intentions
But leads one to the River Styx;
She has her finger in every pie like
the Greeks have in every disciple.

You lose yourself to her; at first like a blessing
You wake up in the morning chained for life to
Her. Hold on to your belief as she takes you
For the ride of your life chained to her.
Seek the ancient path, where the best road is,
And walk on it, then you will break through her
Hold on you like a flood from a raging storm.
Belief is what sustains every breakthrough;
Don't let trouble rob you of it nor let
her cheat you out of it like doubt's dose.

Trouble always divides before she conquers her prey;
She rules with an iron fist and gives no breathing
Room; you move down the ladder, she will be there;
You move up the ladder, she will be there;
No democracy with her; you either break through her
Or you live in misery under her authoritarian rule.
Lose your belief and you lose your breakthrough;
Give trouble an inch and she will go a mile while
Dragging you through the gutter of depression and misery.
Prayer is the ancient path that leads to breakthrough.
