Of Love And Never Endings Poem by R. Ariffin

Of Love And Never Endings

Rating: 5.0

There’s a picture of you beside my empty bed
Smiling while holding daffodils under the sunlight
It’s next to the alarm clock that wakes me in the morning
So that you’re the first thing everyday that comes to sight

I walk to work and back with your picture in my pocket
Through people who hurry up to meetings and appointments
There’s a piece of you in every women that I see
That hurls me back to heartbreak and disappointments

There’s a hint of your scent that keeps my head turn
A mixture of green apple, fresh laundry, crispy autumn leaf and rosebud
There’s an empty space next to me that I always keep for you
On the garden bench, at the movies, in the car, within my heart

There’s a phone on my desk that I’d never leave too far behind
Hoping it would be you whenever it rings
There’s a picture of you and I constantly playing in my mind
The possibility of us, and love, and never endings
