Oh Ramadhan! Poem by Abdulmajeed Soladoye

Oh Ramadhan! A month full of wonders.
In its hunger I get to ponder.
It gives me an opportunity to look yonder.
And set my affairs in order.
Oh Ramadhan!
If your sins are as high as your shoulder,
Heavier than a boulder,
Spread through the land like toddlers.
All you need to say is 'Allahuma':
Oh the creator of jinns and humans.
'Innaka Affuwun': you are forgiving.
The reason we are still living.
'Tuh'ibbul afwa': you love forgiveness.
The essence of our continued existence.
'Fa'affu 'anni': so forgive me.

That is all I want for me
And all I need.
That's what clears all my misdeeds.
You are the most forgiving, indeed.
You forgive even if our acts are cruel and mean.
The reason I never bothered when they said am lean.
'Coz all I want is your favour on me.
Oh Allah!
