Old Man Dreams Poem by Alfonso Siverls

Old Man Dreams

I dream of yesterday
when muscles were tight,
legs swift and body
built for play or fight

I dream of yesterday,
when thoughts and wit
danced off my tongue
quick and sharp
both day and night

I dream of yesterday,
when past and future
was not my concern
and death did not walk
by my side
