I set out on the road to Love, quietly,
like a moth tracing the rim of a burning lamp.
I whisper to the light, tireless,
and my heart replies
in small, steady beats of Hu.
I unfold myself
into the radiant glow
between trembling flames.
I long to rise, softly, without fanfare,
from ash into life—like a phoenix
loosing its final bonds.
I long to emerge from salt and tide,
until my name rests
upon the lips of waves.
I long to dive beneath the waters,
until night dissolves into watercolor
and morning light awakens me.
I long for the lamps of heaven
to keep illuminating my name.
I long to dwell in unbroken remembrance,
for memory is a candle
relighting itself within my ribs.
I do not wish to vanish into silence;
I long to remain—my true self—
in harmony with the voice
of creation's eternal song.
Now, at last, the road has opened.
What I sought as distance
reveals itself as nearness;
The flame I circled
was the sun rising within me.
I no longer carry longing
like an unanswered prayer—
I breathe Love in,
and it breathes me back into being.
The phoenix is no longer bound to ash,
but soars in effortless fire;
The sea has learned my name
and sings it in every tide;
In its depths, I no longer seek—
I am carried, suspended, complete.
My heart beats not in solitude,
but in chorus with all things;
The lamps of heaven answer me,
their light enfolding—
not erasing—
my fragile, luminous self.
Here, remembrance is no effort;
it is the very pulse of existence.
Here, the candle within me
burns with quiet strength,
a sun mingling
with distant stars.
I have not vanished;
I remain a single note
within the endless music—
the eternal song
that created me,
and in which I now abide,
softly free,
sacred, whole.
