On The Way Poem by Jason Atkinson

On The Way

I was on The way to glory
And I stumbled upon a woman
We sat and she told me her story
about her life while she was sinning
I didn't notice at the time
that she didn't say gods Word
Her beauty struck me blind
and The Life sounded like a blur
I didn't know what to do
to help her situation
I just couldn't see through
the eyes of imitation
How easily was I fooled
by such a beautiful face
Caught in a dual
between flesh and gods embrace

Now the battle is to stay in love
on the right path
With a person who cares less
about the way to ever-last
I pray every night while I lay beside her
That the reflection of The Christ
is the only that will guide her.
