On This Dawn Poem by Charlie Youdonneedtaknow

On This Dawn

You're so confounding,
just when you smile.
My soul is sent resounding.
Another want on the pile.

I can only call you radiant,
the way you shine,
always that gleaming gradient.
But I can't make you mine.

It would be caging a bird.
It would be snuffing a flame.
I want for that one word,
I am left for you to claim.

Love always seems so sh*t.
It can be so hard to keep.
But I can't help but feel it,
come on, lets take the leap.

Feelings are always strongest in the dawn,
and ones like this do last long.
It's important to have someone to lean on,
two are more than twice as strong.
