Once Poem by Paul Larmour

Once

once i wore a shinning cloak
now all is hid by choking smoke
my winds they cough, my seas they boke
and all my living creatures choke

once i had a gleaming eye
now all is hid by a poisonous sky
my earth is bleached, my plants they die
and all my living creatures cry

once i the clearest tears did cry
now all is hid by a sulphurous dye
my rivers reek, my forests fry
and all my living creatures die

once i had the purest soil
now all is hid by leaking oil
my mountains crumble, my lakes they boil
and all my living creatures toil

once i had the richest crust
now all is hid by refuge rust
my valleys are full, my lands are dust
and all my living creatures are lost
