Once Again Poem by Natasha Dowdy

Once Again

You have managed to reduce me down to nothing more than an statistic.
A notch in your belt.
I promised myself that I wouldn't let this happen again.
Obviously I have failed.
Why do I allow myself to fall for you?
Why is it that every time I see your smile I melt?
I look in to your dark eyes and drown in the flood of your presence.
I had convinced myself that you were gone.
That our chance meetings had ended.
The happenstance of this situation is becoming more than my feeble mind can withstand.
