No use fretting over land or gold,
beauty or rank,
status or fleeting fame.
How could hunger
for such passing things
ever quiet
the restless heart?
Non-attachment loosens
the knots of our entanglement
with life's lesser pursuits
and turns the gaze inward—
toward the truth
of what we are.
When we come to know
our essential nature,
a deeper truth begins to dawn;
and from that dawning
rises an enduring contentment
in the mind and heart.
Empty the mind.
Sit quietly
with your true Self.
In communion with—
that inward truth,
we begin to behold
the One in All
and All in One.
Hu rises like vapour
through a silent mountain valley—
unseen, yet everywhere—
ascending from the depths of Being,
drifting through the veils of form.
Its mysterious presence
touches the innermost soul,
until what once seemed
a distant Divine Presence
is felt as the stillness
within which all things arise.
Hu—
not merely a sound,
but a silence beyond sound;
not another beside the One,
but the whisper of the One
within the many.
The One is never divided
by the forms through which
it shines;
the many are never separate
from the One
in which they arise.
To see the One in All
is to look beyond appearance.
To see All in One
is to awaken
from the dream of separation.
And in that awakening,
nothing is possessed
and nothing is lost.
Only the veil grows thin,
until Being rests
in its own boundless stillness.
