You didn't make it this time,
But that's not the end of your climb,
So get back up and try again,
Don't let your spirit break or bend.
You fell, but you can get up,
And dust yourself off and cup,
Your hand to the sun and say,
'I can do it - just give me a day.'
Take time to learn from your loss,
But then turn your attention across,
The sky to the future you seek,
It's time to stand tall and be meek.
Don't let your past hold you tight,
Let it go and see the light,
Of the dawn that's coming soon,
Just put one foot in front of the moon.
Walk slowly and breathe in deep,
Forget about the time you weep,
But rather look ahead and know,
That the future can help you grow.
So try again, don't ever stop,
And soon you'll reach the mountain's top,
Where the view is clear and bright,
Where you'll know that you were right.
When you reach the summit's height,
Take in the beauty of the sight,
And think about your long climb,
It took strength and took some time.
But now you stand here on this peak,
Look back and know your spirit's meek,
You tried and now you've made it through,
So keep on climbing, it's in you.
When the road gets hard again,
Just remember you're not just men,
But you're more, a force of soul,
That can face whatever's your role.
So keep your head up, high and proud,
And never let yourself feel bowed,
By what life throws your way,
Just know that you'll have a say.
So when you're faced with another test,
Just try again and do your best,
For you can make it, there's no doubt,
And know that's what life's all about.
