One thing in life I’ve understood
The truth behind The Tree
The power within each dropp of blood
Christ Jesus spent for me


I’ve seen the darkest shades of night
I’ve watched the devil smile
I’ve walked through life devoid of light
And flourished for a while


I’ve walked with death so many times
I’ve been the devil’s tool
Now purged and safe from all past crimes
I’ll play no more the fool


I see the wisdom of The Cross
The love of God’s true Son
The reason why He suffered loss
And how life’s war is won


I see the way to life on high
The gaping jaws of hell
I see how man may never die
And so the truth I tell


No more is life an unknown path
Through Christ I’ve seen The Light
In Him I’ll flee the coming wrath
And wear a robe of white


In armour bright I’ll stand my post
I see my future clear
With Father Son & Holy Ghost
I’ve nothing more to fear


I’ll sing no more the devil’s song
Nor dance to Satan’s tune
I know with whom I now belong
And know He’s coming soon…
