Sinking, amidst a deluge of doubt,
going under for the third time,
she gathers all her strength and courage -
her voice shaky with fear she whispers
'But do you love me? '
The torrent roars,
the crows screech above,
the wind howls through the forest,
the sirens wail,
a helicopter buzzes angrily overhead,
her heart pounds
and her breath is heavy with anticipation
but only his silence matters.
