Onwards Or Downwards Poem by Mary Champion

Onwards Or Downwards

She stood on the mossy wooden bridge

while the slow stream slid beneath her.

She gazed down at her emptiness

and saw that her future was as dark

as the hypnotic water below.

Taking a deep breath

and closing her eyes

she headed into the future.
