Other Side Of The Line - Poem by Paul Prescott

I have days where I need to hear your voice,
Just on the other side of the line,
Knowing that your there,
With your voice in my ear.

Knowing that every word you speak,
Makes me wonder what would you say, ,
If I said just more than just okay,
I guess I'll never know.

With my gut feeling burning inside,
Hurts with every breath I take,
Why I can't tell you the truth,
Makes me pretend to be someone fake.
