Our Bad Days Poem by Tammy Nicholls

Our Bad Days

How many times have you looked at yourself
Wishing you were someone new
You don't like what you see right now
And your voice you really hate too

You feel as though your bums to big
Or your hair real messy or short
Your shoes don't match the pants you wear
So you hate this shirt you just brought

There's wrinkles showing on your face
Some bulging through your clothes
Your bras now tight and nickers to small
There's so much that you loathe

It now takes time to get it right
Is it really worth the time
To dress up this, that's getting old
And pretend to smile and shine

Your not as young as you want to be
Or fit as you really would like
Exercise is such a chore
So is trying to ride a bike

Although these changes I may not like
I can learn to accept them now
For with age does come with blues
But we do get through somehow

Age is something we all can't fight
So let go of all your fears
Then you'll realise soon enough
It was not worth all those tears
