Our First Christmas Part 2: To My Love Poem by kira kira

Our First Christmas Part 2: To My Love

Left thinking that I made a mistake,
I knew my heart was at stake.
I swore I would find a certain flaw,
In your eyes or in your voice,
That would hasten my conclusion and bring me to a choice.
I was afraid I would get hurt,
Like usual I expected the worst.
But I saw the same kind heart I had grown to adore,
With a bit of a bite and so much more.
I am glad to admit now, that I wasn't right.
But when we were new and fresh,
I contemplated on letting you in,
But I still desired the heat of your flesh,
So every night I'd let you win.
And more and more I would unfold,
Into your comfort I hungered for.
Though in the beginning,
We might have been a game,
If I were to lose,
I would've never been the same.
Still I didn't turn for the door,
I no longer wanted to play,
I wanted more,
Just like every woman would,
With a man,
That treated her like he should.
