Our Love - Poem by lesley herrera

Our Love

The moonlight flickered
Upon the water
Clusters of diamonds
Sparkled across the sky
Lighting our path
We held hands and made foot prints
Across the sand
We walked with only
The sound of our hearts
Beating as one
The beauty of the night wrapped around us
Like a blanket
I could feel the heat of your breath
Softly touching my cheek
Sending electricity through my veins
Feeling every ounce of your love
Through the warmth of your fingertips
Caressed between mine
I looked down at our hands
And for a moment
I couldn’t tell yours from my own
Saying nothing yet say everything
We walked for what seemed like hours
When we stopped
You gently pulled me close to your body
And when I looked up
I was amazed to see the stars had fallen
From the sky
And had landed in your eyes
I tasted the sweetness of your lips
Upon my mouth
Every kiss from you
Feels like the first
The tenderness in your touch
Is permanently tattooed in my soul
We both know
Our love is infinite
