Out Of The Abyss Part 4: Come To Me Poem by Ken Barrett

Out Of The Abyss Part 4: Come To Me

On the threshold of darkness,
Hell reached out for me
to engulf me into her grasp.
I stumble backwards cowardly,
As she cried for me,
Come to me.

When the darkness arrived,
Hell sang out her sirens song
to seduce me into her embrace.
I inched backwards fearfully,
As she demanded for me,
Come to me.

At the darkest of hours,
Hell sent her demons of despair
to lure me into her fold.
I staggered backwards dreadfully,
As commanded for me,
Come to me.

As the darkness receded,
Hell sent her devils of desire
to lead me into her clasp.
I hustled backwards alarmingly,
As she screamed for me,
Come to me.

When the light began to advance
Hell lashed out with all her fury
to rope me into her clutches.
I leapt backwards drastically,
As she shrieked for me,
Come to me.

When the light was in full splendor,
Hell retreated into the shadows
Shrinking back in defeat.
As she whispered for me,
With one last plea,
Come to me.

I turned around and walked away peacefully.
