Out Of The Ashes Poem by Verilyn Titus

Out Of The Ashes

The Holocaust Museum was erected in honor of the 6 million who paid the ultimate price...
In a war against Jews as well others who were made a human sacrifice...
Due to oppression and struggles of that day...
The people of this era had no say...
Being led by Nazi's to live in fear...
Soldiers separating families and loved ones without shedding a tear...
How distraught they must have been to come to the realization...
That their ruler would choose genocide to decrease the population...
Out of the ashes in this modern day...
Come our elders who have stories to tell and wisdom to show us the way...
To overcome indifference and to remain steadfast...
In the future as well as the past.
