It's noting wrong with wanting to be free - better be free and alone, than in a company of somebody who wouldn't let you be who you are... Pride isn't a dumb thing, in a way it is close to moral excellence, such as honor... It is self respect and awareness of self - worth. I think we shouldn't mistake it with stubbornness and being pompous...
