Pain Poem by Hakima Smaali

Pain

All this pain is driving me insane
Everytime I try to forget and change
I always stay the same
But I found what will help me, it’s my thing
It’s writing poems,
it’s my way to say what’s in my mind
My way to talk about my problems and whom I blame
To tell you about my friends, those pictured in that frame
To tell you whom have changed and whom is always the same
To say who makes me laugh and who causes me pain
Even to talk about the weather is it sunny or if there is rain
It’s my way to say who I am and what I do
To tell you what’s false about me and what’s true
To site what makes me happy and what hurts me too
To ask for help, and what should I do
To say if I just think of as a friend, or if I can’t live without you
About this a lot have no clue

I hear them all the time talking about me
setting out roomers
It might not be fair,
But I really don’t care
They may not like my style or the way I wear
But are they aware, God is there, up in the 7th sky watching us
Angels are up on our shoulders, registering everything we’ve done
From God and the last day where are they going to run?
They’ve forgotten about their religion looking just for fun
I won’t cry, I will never cry
Convincing theme, I won’t try
Because every time I get weak I get my strength thinking about god,
looking up to the sky

NO, I won’t hide
No, I won’t act blind
It’s time for you to know what’s in my mind
What type of girl am I and what kind
Believe this: a girl like me you will never fined
I only love, and I don’t hate
Don’t say impossible, just wait
Hating is a waste for my power and feeling
All it causes is pain, and takes too much time for healing

To stay in this world I won’t pray
It’s getting worse every day
Only the devil with us plays,
With his wicked ideas and says
This world is driving me crazy
