Pain, Poetry And Reason Poem by Rachel Bari

Pain, Poetry And Reason

With pain, flows poetry
As though the pain does not find a path
To flow, it does through words
Words which are denied, twisted, turned
To mock, question, power over the self
In poetry it shows, subtly
In words, in punctuations and the lack of it
In incoherence, in truncated sentences
Which vouch for rhyme with no reason
It is these words which cleanses
Call it catharsis, words which fall with tears
Sudden, drop by drop and then surges
Into a torrent, unstoppable, with
No designated path, poetry
And tears do not contain
They need to flow without restraint.
For restraint brings in reason
And rational poetry does not bring tears.
