Brush strokes lay down the tint and the texture,
as the artist's skilful hand wields its tools.
See him blending the one perfect mixture
of colour. Here the shade warms, there it cools.
See how the sky glows translucently blue;
vivid impressions of sunlight and shade;
leaves on the trees are precisely that hue;
sunlight on water superbly displayed.
Clouds seem to move as he captures the breeze,
the swirl and the spin and the twist of the gust,
bending the grass and disturbing the trees -
all brought to life by the flow of his brush.
Mountains and valleys materialize.
See the waves crash on the far distant sands -
a landscape preserved as the paint slowly dries,
one frozen moment - the work of his hands.
