Pandemic Summer Of Hope - I Await! Poem by George Vee

Pandemic Summer Of Hope - I Await!

The summer wind is strolling in

And spring farewell thee prepare

Through winter and thru spring you gave your best and now in awe

Thank you I do,for what is done

Is done

The summer wind gives me but strength, now

looking back to ponder

how far have u come

And labored through

Those early days when the clouds darkened

Our nation yet world into gloom

You done did the early morning shifts and late into the night

Into the unknown with barely the shield to shelter by

The risks were high to self and loved ones

But yet courage and faith led you on

To help

Assist

Comfort

and Heal

You found a way when shields were down

To stay safe but shoulder on

At risk, of bravado that come what may

You will shoulder on

To help

Comfort

Assist

and heal

When tired brow you brought to home

I saw the the wear, the tire and the ache

I tried how to give you solace but only you knew

How to endure

And you endured

And endured

But through it all, there was the light

light burning bright

That wanted to save what can be saved

And loved where can be loved

I saw the hope of the summer wind and the coming summer bright

Of new tomorrow's

When one day the gloom be gone

and sun will shine forever bright
