Living in the past, while waiting for the future.
The present is just too terrifying.

The past is so very peaceful,
nothing ever changes.
Living in the good memories,
and ignoring the bad ones.
Safe form pain in the past.

The future is unknown,
shrouded in mystery and wonder.
Full of possibilities both good and bad
The wait is long and nerve racking.
Everything can be fixed be then.

The present is freighting,
not safe like the past.
Anything can happen here,
the past can become full of dread,
the future can be crushed.
Always changing.

But... the present is the place to live.
Everything gets done there.
Look back at the past for guidance,
look forward to the future with determination,
but live in the present, live in the moment.
For it's where everyone is.
