Pathless Sea Poem by Keli Mims

Pathless Sea

Wandering through all eternity,
Consumed by a pathless sea.
No light touches my path,
No feelings besides wrath.
Light cannot caress my skin,
It's gone like secrets in the wind.
Clothed in darkness and night,
Bad decisions I thought were right.
Tossed and turned about,
Filled with guilt and doubt.
Engulfed by this pathless sea,
Is this wandering my destiny?
Plunging into the frigid depths,
Longing, welcoming death.
Cold water prys at my lips,
I can almost feel death's kiss.
Feeling it rush amongst my skin,
I float up almost at my end.
But my lungs fill with air,
I push aside my soaking hair.
The storm still rages on,
But only for so long.
How long? I do not know,
With this death of hope,
In this pathless sea I let you go.
