Patience Poem by JOY JOHNSON

Patience

I can't wait either
I am aware it's a waiting process
A dream of dreams, not a fantasy
You don't have to make believe
Never mind pretending
Although it seem like a Century
Years of procrastinating and anticipating
Just to feel brand new
To be lifted up spiritually
How great are thou patience
Can you believe I waited
Long, long ago I won my prize
Funny how my cheek bones outlast the smile
I wear it well, even now
Grateful to receive
Excited about it, I shout not
For yes it is better to give
Patience is like a treasure
Unexplained, hard and rare
Believing it happened, it's a good thing to be here
For always it is said,
The Best is yet to come
How special is your sweetness
Exploit me with your love
Silently, I am patient
If life is worth living
I am most grateful
For all that I wait for
I will wait with patience
