Patience Breakdown Poem by Richard Phipps

Patience Breakdown

Phone don't ring, door bell too.
Mailbox empty, scene so blue.
Patience breakdown, anxiety accrue.
Just can't wait, to hear from you.

'No new messages, ' says the screen.
Same as yesterday, daily routine.
Cell phone broken, unfinished dream.
Waitin' to hear from you, useless scheme.

Snail mail too fast, e-mail too slow.
Mailman's stuck, in three feet a' snow.
Plowman knows, how critical it be,
Ain't heard from you either,
an' he's agreein' with me.

That phone a' yours keeps ringing,
door bell too.
Mailbox overflow, so easy for you.
Ignore my messages, throw dreams askew.
Rip my heart out, before you're through.

'Incoming messages, ' your screen does scream,
Refuse to open them, destroy my dreams.
Can't wait to see you, but you'd make a scene.
Your love's addictive, as high test caffeine.

Snail mail too fast, e-mail too slow.
Mailman's stuck, in three feet a' snow.
Plowman knows, how critical it be,
Ain't heard from you either,
an' you're no where to be seen.
