Patrick's Whispers Poem by John Duffy

Patrick's Whispers

In This Great In-Between
At this very hour

As the pagan brothers in the black shadows

Chant

'Gathered as one
To celebrate the rising heat from our
Anthracite

Eyes watching
The horizon

We await the newborn
Moon Child

Tonight'

Leaving them calling forth some strange unnatural power

With the four winds rising and white lightning screaming
Piecing this never-ending night

As I stand in this salt circle while Luna rises
And when our silver Lady parts the grey clouds

Coming into sight
While the chanting and silence fights

I'll always think of you
Whilst standing alone in this sombre moonlight

These are my prayers sent
Hoping one day
When you too arrive

My dearest Elaine

We'll hold onto each other
Like we once used to do

When I was alive
As our souls lovingly
Reunite

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I sometimes receive supernatural visitors in deep lucid dreams. This is just one of many. The compelling urge to write it was overwhelming. Salute.
