Peace At Last

Rating: 4.5

By grace of God The Truth is mine
No longer am I blind
I’ve cast aside the devil’s wine
And felt its coils unwind

I’ve left behind my wayward past
I’m climbing hallowed ground
I’m free of that which held me fast
Each chain that had me bound

With angels either side of me
The eyes of God above
The One inside who set me free
I’m so wrapped up in love

What should I dread what should I fear?
What harm can yet be done
God’s Holy Ghost is ever near
From whom need I to run?

The burden of my Master’s light
His yoke’s easy to bear
It’s He whom all my foes must fight
What need have I to care?

My trust is in The Rock of old
My faith is firm and true
Obeying what I’m daily told
What else have I to do?

God took from me my heart of stone
He filled my soul with grace
It’s good to know He loves us so
And that we’ll see His face

Until that day I’m climbing on
The devil’s dye is tossed
I’m holding fast to God’s true Son
However high the cost
