Peering Out The Foggy Window Poem by Michael Moorcroft

Peering Out The Foggy Window

Peering out the foggy window,
I see,

The old man across the road,
Lost in a distant trance,
Forgotten the way to his humble abode,
In women’s clothing he does dance.

Peering out the foggy window,
I see,

The family next day going out,
Another day spent trying to get away,
The husband grew fond to scream and shout,
The beatings became twice a day.

Peering out the foggy window,
I see,

The women who has nervous breakdowns,
At Halloween and any festive event,
The husband looks up from the paper and frowns,
She didn't no he'd give her up for lent.

Peering out the foggy window,
I see,

What a bleak and dismal world,
That is known to me.
