Ph: Life: Fool's Gold? Poem by Brian Johnston

Ph: Life: Fool's Gold?

Do you think education's no more than an itch
That you scratch, or a medal, bronze, silver, or gold,
One more luxury, sold to the parents of rich
Kids, a dilettante's quest, a cold status to hold?

Once a Renaissance Man was a term of high praise
And a possible genius might open their eyes,
Michelangelo, Newton, or Darwin bless days,
Or a Jesus whose spirit-filled birth starred night skies.

Don't all men sail the sea that's creation's vast wealth,
Those who question the Given, who dare to explore,
Have the courage to knock? Would you live just by stealth?
Is the Bible your 'Child? ' Can you 'Science' ignore?

Is your life just a candle that flickers and dies
Or do you share creation, 'Love' flower you'd bloom?
Is your faith in God's witness or serpent that lies?
Can a soul be a spirit confined to one room?

While rambling thru the checklist of our aims, aspirations, and accomplishments, can anyone score above 35% on the great list of endeavors that we might avail... Lost days and nights, and shortened bucket list marks, we have to fight off the discouraging thoughts that somehow we failed massively to reap even a C+ in our points achieved...
