Twenty Years Younger

So twenty years younger? Would that do the trick?
Were you friends with more people then? Rarely get sick?
Were your friends better quality, easily found,
Or did problems occurring then, feel less snowbound?
Are there assets you once possessed in short supply?
Are the keys to your happiness hung out to dry?
It is true we move slower each day that we age,
But my time is more flexible too at this stage.

These days what's essential seems closer to nest,
And I find that I'm really not missing the rest.
Urge to travel? I've done it! And love's in a smile,
Aren't most arguments silly? Come! Sit for a while!
I find joy's more in sharing the gifts of today,
And my path to the future's less labor, more play.
I'm less driven it seems, the day's goals more my choice,
And the smelling of roses my God-given voice.

Quite stimulating treatise on being happier with less travel, social life, and recognizing that we are now in the best of our years. Our moods and living qualities can be elevated beyond prior years... just accept what you have, and smell the roses, again.
