Phase I Poem by Cerulean Celyn

Phase I

Breathing is what it takes
Courage, definately.
But look once more at those faces
Those 'friends'.
Is their talk tempting now?
Is it killing you to not join in laughter
At someone else's expense?
Not now. Not for a long time.
Because, soon, conversation is strained
And this friendship is not as beautiful
As it once was.
You are beginning to see it now;
The shifty glances, the brutality in causing someone pain,
Thinking they are superior in their ways.
It is sad when some refuse to walk in the way of good people,
And a tragedy to refuse after having walked in it.
But this moment, right now?
This is only Phase I,
The beginning and continuing of transition.
