Phuulo.n kii Tahaniyo.n pe nasheman banaayiye - Poem by Abdul Hameed Adam

Phuulo.n kii Tahaniyo.n pe nasheman banaayiye
bijalii gire to jashn-e-charaaGaa.N manaayiye

[Tahanii = branch; nasheman = nest]
[jashn-e-charaaGaa.N = celebration of lights]

kaliyo.n ke ang ang me.n miThaa saa dard hai
biimaar nikahato.n ko zaraa gud_gudaayiye

[nikahat = fragrance]

kab se sulag rahii hai javaanii kii garm raat
zulfe.n bikher kar mere pahaluu me.n aayiye

bahakii hu_ii siyaah ghaTaao.n ke saath saath
jii chaahataa hai shaam-e-abad tak to jaayiye

[shaam-e-abad = unending evening]

sun kar jise havaas me.n ThanDak sii aa base
aisii ko_ii udaas kahaanii sunaayiye

[havaas = sense and sensibility]

raste pe har qadam pe Kharaabaat hai.n 'Adam'
ye haal ho to kis tarah daaman bachaayiye
