I saw my life slipping through my fingers today
Like loose sand
Fallen and lost forever
I looked around and saw
My dreams brutally stabbed
Their bodies slack and lifeless
Their bittersweet blood oozing away
I felt it’s familiar stickiness on my fingers
And tasted its cool indifference on my lips
And smelt it’s cruel, steel smell.
I saw my life slipping through my fingers today
And watched from a distance
a bystander
