Pieta Poem by Mary Champion

Pieta

I'll take you in my arms, my love.
I'll take you to my heart.
I'll take you in a million ways -
we've been too long apart.
You'll offer up the symbol
of your manly soul to me
and hungrily I'll take it in
to claim our victory.
You've cried for me and died for me,
but this time, without pain,
I'll take you to my breast my love
so you can rise again.

Such ecstasy
you'll share with me;
and freely enter in.
You'll cry in me and die in me
and there will be no sin.
With Wisdom claiming all your mind
your heart can do no wrong,
so when you cry and when you die
the life force will stay strong,
stay strong enough to bring you back
as in my arms you lie.
There is no death, as you have feared,
just tears of joy to cry.

I'll take you in my arms my love
whenever you have need
to cry again and die again.
No longer will you bleed.
Immortal soul, immortal love
and now our body too
is raised in immortality
our life is saved through you.

Forbidden love, forbidden death,
now we can taste it all.
I'll take you to my breast my love
and raise you when you fall.
I'll take you to my bed, my love
to lie and cry and die.
I'll take you in to Paradise
and free our heart to fly.
