Pigeon Thought Poem by Ulysses Bandi

Pigeon Thought

What are the forlorn pigeons doing now?
Are they thinking about their
Next flight or wondering whether
To get drunk?

What are the lonesome pigeons doing now?
Are they resting on slats and mulling
Over whether there will be enough water
Or will they have to desperately scout?

What are the indolent pigeons doing now?
Are they releasing droplets of excreta
Upon the general public who are now
Haplessly aware?

What are the insouciant pigeons doing now?
Are they waiting for their untimely death
Or planning their fall in mid-flight air
To see if Jesus really cares?
