Piquant Seasons Poem by Suu Casey Young

Piquant Seasons

Summer - a reputation for being dangerous.
She solicits youth to seek her caress,
leaving past lovers sapped of energy -
blinded by her vibrant beauty.

Autumn - seductively teasing all before her.
So bold as to strip the trees bare.
Gathering adoring clouds around her,
before tempestuously abandoning the affair.

Winter - cold of heart and ice in her voice.
Goads rebellious clouds to fight
with spears of lightning and icy bullets.
She is truly a formidable sight.

Spring - the quintessential midwife.
Nurturing the new born, nourishing the weak.
Her, often subtle, but almost mystical air
provides the love and beauty that all seek.
