Play Poem by Imogen Lee Greene

Play

I could tell everything
I could,

But I'm just this girl with the ability to know what your hiding.
I sit quietly and look out the window
Everything so still, your anxiety's building.
These games we need to play.

I'll be secret keeper too.
Cowards that we both are, we'll never say.
We shut each other up, with a certain look
Stop each other, from breaking our pretense.

Lover, everything is so still.
But just let's, you and me pretend
That there's not anything to say
Let's just play, play, play.
