Play My Hand Poem by Joseph Caraveo

Play My Hand

I hate to admit it
I’m kinda lost today
lost in the Sun, Scarlet Red
Fireworks crackle, explode in my head
I’m a strong man, few get inside
Something about you girl got me hypnotizes
I hear your words, it’s like Déjà vu
Could you really be different
I’d like to think this dream is true
I’ve been cut, with emotional knife
As long as I can remember
She’s always fed me lies
Getting to old, tired of holding on
I wanna live life once
Taste a faithful kiss
The only thing that’s ever faithful
Goodbye’s emptiness
I become vulnerable
I let you inside
Share with you the pain I bleed
Empty shallow pleas
I already expect the worst
But I’m a gambling man
Even with the odds against me
I will always play my hand
