Poem 007: Ode To 'J' Poem by Samer Madbak

Poem 007: Ode To 'J'

Your mem’ry torments me and sets me aflame,
Bewilders my senses, enfeebles my frame.
This love that I feel is afflicting my soul,
Augmenting my heartache whene’er I am sole.

I still can depicture the smile on your face,
The joy that surpasses the ambits of grace,
Elysian delights are now things that I miss
Our walks and our talks, Oh these glances…'Twas bliss!

Your mem’ry’s the kindle I need to survive
Though ruthlessly burns me, it keeps me alive
I try to efface it, but seems there’s no way
Break loose? There’s no use; I’m entangled for aye!

'Cause still you’re my thrill, you’re the theme of my odes
Till love is no more, till the twilight of gods.
