Poetry Poem by Mitchell Long

Poetry

A blatant day forgiving last
A dying date out of your past
On a day you still remember
Clear as glass on due December
Crawling sighs of vicious laughs
Dimming lamplight burning gas
On that day you can remember
Creeping thoughts still soft and tender
Until the deeming cripple frost
You still remember all is lost
Letting go is nothing easy
Force yourself off pride
Hold yourself so steep and high
Forget to cope inside
To self off pity lights the dire
Starts the distant pounding thunder
Subtle sunshine gleaming fire
On the day, you choose to wonder
To see clear, as due december
