Port City Poem by Hanan Muzafar

Port City

Trough nights and days,
In rain and sunshine,
we used to roam through,
crowded and empty lanes,
like kids finding,
meaning of life:
While forgetting,
we were part of fate.

Sometimes watching the sight of sea,
it's vastness and depths,
chasing its tides with feet;
Lights were bright,
and doors shut for us;
For we were strangers to thee.

wander through alleys,
look for portals, and watch strange it's;
Little clans we make,
to survive and thrive,
like thieves of city,
eyes full of dreams;
In crowd:
Alone and bare.
