Prayer Poem by Kieran John J McGuigan

Prayer

Master,
since I'm bent from the knee
brought by a hand to the grave of the night;
Bring me the King, the Seeker & the Child,
to end this reign of an endless shadow
in annihilating despair.
Let the Joker laugh away his sanity
to the choking riddle of a friendless game.
Bring forth each name, seized
between the words that one must speak,
to love, to slain
to dethrone & disgrace.
For under the veil of this face
there is a shadow that blots the world
in black mistaken passion.

Bring forth the Angel
from the hades of desire
chased from her virtuous will.
Stoned at the sight; numb
at the phantom touch of her tongue to singe a midnight fire.

Master, let me know the difference between
a lover & a liar.

Show me the difference.
Show her to me. With nothing to say,
but herself in limitless ways of forgiveness.
Show me the way.
Let me play for one more game of happiness
And be in this forsakenness,
a blissful creature, once again..
