Predictions
Yes—
they say the war
is the final sign of the apocalypse.
Yes—
they say we need it,
for Armageddon to arrive
and hasten the coming of
the Messiah,
Jesus Christ,
the Mahdi.
But far more troubling is this:
these predictions are slowly
spoiling the world—
for those who wait eagerly
for the prophecy to unfold,
and for those of us as well
who never believed
in such predictions.
