Premature Surrender Poem by Stuart Doggett

Premature Surrender

Shadows dwell in the corners of my eyes,
Hint at the things I wish that I could hide,
Secrets without one in which to confide,
You can’t know you can’t know,
YOU CAN’T KNOW.

I stare as life crumbles all around me,
Destroying the things I always longed to see,
Plagued now by mem’ries of that which had been,
But no more but no more,
BUT NO MORE.

Light glints off tears as they role down my cheek,
Through water I try to find that which I seek,
Constrictions round words as I now try to speak,
All in vain all in vain,
ALL IN VAIN.

Forsaken by those who I once loved dearly,
Blackness engulfs my guiding star wholly,
Lost and alone I give up completely,
Surrender surrender,
SURRENDER.

Oblivion now,
Dragging me down,
Taking my soul,
Don’t want to go.

Don’t want to go.
Don’t want to go.
Save me…
