Pretending Poem by Landon Stout

Pretending

He goes to school everyday
Pretending that he's alright
Alive he will stay
But he still has yet to see the light

His dues he will pay
To those fallen at night
He says he's okay
But how long can he fight

The warriors grow weak
The demons rage on
Soon comes the battles peak
Yet he feels he's a pawn

Why can't he be unique?
As he exits the door a mask he will don
Maybe his faith has sprung a leak
It always seems to be gone
